Alexander Boettner


Alexander Boettner is Executive Director Global Regulatory Affairs EU at MSD Animal Health in Schwabenheim, Germany.

Alexander qualified as veterinary surgeon at the University of Hannover in 1982 and obtained his doctorate in veterinary parasitology from the University of Hannover and Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Before Alexander joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1989, he worked in large animal practice in Germany and New Zealand and was employed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in New Zealand. He also obtained a degree in tropical veterinary medicine from the Free University in Berlin and spent time for courses and practical work in Pakistan, Kenia and Zimbabwe.

Alexander started his career in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry with Hoechst AG in Frankfurt in clinical development. Following, he had various responsibilities with increasing responsibility in global project management, global pharmaceutical product development, strategic marketing and global regulatory affairs.
