Dr Hervé Marion


Hervé MARION is Secretary of VICH since 2002 and Project Manager for HealthforAnimals and CEESA since 2000. He graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Liège (Belgium) in 1985 and became a partner in a mixed veterinary practice in France until 1987, before heading a companion animal veterinary practice in Charleroi (Belgium) until 2002.

Meanwhile he was elected to the board of the Belgian Veterinary Association from 1987 to 1998, where he acted also for 10 years as chief editor of the Belgian Veterinary Journal. He built his international experience as Secretary General of the FVE (Federation of Veterinarians of Europe) from 1991 to 1992 and as member of the board of UEVP (European Union of Veterinary Practitioners) from 1992 to 1997. During this period, he participated in numerous International Committees and Working Groups.

He has further been expert to the European Commission on Veterinary Training from 1987 to 1999, where, as a practitioner, he played an active role in the development of the evaluation of veterinary training in Europe.
